H2O ANNOUNCEMENT
Posted by Rick [Rick] on February 05, 2001 at 20:57:06 {XlWHQ8nCO6bkYYamxmSwFMFBt36Xyc}:
After prayerful consideration and contact with the brothers and sisters in Australia who are amongst the original founders of Hourglass2 Outpost (H2O) -- and after reading your many postings and emails of support -- I have decided it best not to close H2O. Our new outpost in cyberspace has been built faster than a Kingdom Hall quickbuild, and almost ready to receive all of you.
I have asked one of our brothers to have the honors of posting the introductory first post on the new site, and prepare an official announcement of the new location's grand opening.
I want to emphasize this move is no different than the move from C2.ORG in Berkeley, California to CYBERPASS.NET (Infonex Information Services, Inc.) in La Mesa, California. The move should be "seamless" at midnight on Tuesday, February 6th, when this board is replaced with a page redirecting the site to the new "International Open Forum for Jehovah's Witnesses and other interested ones." The look and feel is almost the same, but the new board is feature rich and will still require registration to post. Our love-struck Aussie brother and sisters are even considering restarting the JWs Singles BBS that once ran on H2O, because the software allows you to instantaneously create separate topic boards that are part of the "Hourglass2 Community" -- and easily accessible from a main menu of Hourglass2 Outpost boards! So the sophistication of the software is light years ahead.
Before I thank the one whose idea I followed up on for this new ISP, I'll await for the brother I have asked to make the formal announcement to official launch the site. Once that announcement is made, even though it's likely before tomorrow night, you all are free to begin posting there to become amongst the first in H2O's history to post at its new ISP location!
Now we await the announcement from our dear brother. I won't reveal who it is, because it's both a surprise and also I want him to decide whether to accept my invitation to make the announcement. If he declines then nobody will know who he is, and if he accepts then myself and others in Australia will be very thankful!
Thank you all again for your loving support and encouragement. Without it, I might have thought that maybe H2O's time had come. It looks like instead of "Resting In Peace (R.I.P)," H2O will be celebrating its continuation. All prophesies centering around H2O and its demise are hereby revoked. Someone reminded me that in that children's fable I quoted recently, that although it emphasized that this world is powerless to keep all things from coming to an abrupt end, it said nothing about God putting Humpty together again. :-)
