I was sitting at the meeting last night looking for more things to be critical about (LOL!).
The year text is "Come to me...and I will refresh you"-Matthew 11:28
As I was staring at the text as it hung on the wall, I looked over at a married teenage couple who were disfellowhipped for "poking" prior to marriage.
Okay, they had sex before marriage. But they DID get MARRIED. Yet, they were still DF'd.
Ah, so refreshing to get shunned for making a so-called mistake!

Every time I sit there and that text is staring me in the face, the contradictions become more and more obvious to me too...especially as I listen to what is being from the platform, while at the same time looking around and seeing the ACTUAL REALITY of the state of affairs.
A lot like the what going thru the Greatest Man (for what...like 5 times...seemed anyway) did to open my eyes. That book...did a lot to hlight for me the contradictions/double standards/pharisaical attitude...sorta like shooting yourself in the foot.
These two love birds expressed their love to each other and were punished for it?

In what way does the org refresh you? By laying down a series of laws that are impossible to do completely, giving you a rigid study and meeting program that nobody does fully, and stopping you from progressing in a career that will help you in later life.

Well, let's see...
I left an anonymous note on their car windshield, encouraging them to hang in there and that they are loved. (I think they know I left the note since I saw them in the supermarket the night I left the note!)
I turned around during a recent meeting and made eye contact with her and I winked at her.
I smiled at him during a recent meeting when our paths crossed.
Oh, and during the Memorial (I was an Attendant), they were standing in the back of the hall (actually, beyond the double doors. So, they were actually in the foyer area). I walked up to him while the talk was being given. There were about 20 people in the foyer at the time. I asked the DF'd couple if they would like to sit in the auditorium. They said they were okay where they were and I asked them if they were sure and they said yes.
After I took count, I plucked the DF wife over the head with a piece of paper.
Anyway, to answer your question, they appear to be doing fine. He shaved off all of his hair. LOL!
ewwwee Mister Biggs! Do you have to do the pubic check on the DF'd individuals like the ms's in our congo do?
Seriously, be careful. You are no doubt leading these poor people to have hope that there is good left in the organization. Best you be an asshole like the rest.

I'm glad to hear they are okay, but sorry to hear that they are still going.
I was hoping they might stop completely and realize that it's just a bunch of crap. Oh well, wishful thinking I guess.

That's too bad...being DF'd sure started their marriage on a bad note. I'm afraid that will haunt them for as a long as they are in the org. I hope their marriage survives!
