IDENTIFYING the BUZZWORD: antichrist

    Know what a "buzzword" is?

It is a word that catches on and creates a lot of attention and conversation (usually opinion).

A religious buzzword would be a popular word everybody uses and has an opinion about. Take the word: ANTICRHIST, for example.
Pretty obvious what that means, right? Or, is it obvious?

    Let's examine it closely.

Sometimes the greek word χριστος means "anointed." Well, actually, it always means that!

We infer from context. Does the scripture mean Jesus or merely "anointed". We figure it out.

Moreover, if we don't figure it out we mislead ourselves!

There are OTHER uses of the word "anointed", as every Jehovah's Witness knows by heart!

    Αντ?χριστος

Greek: anticristos, meaning "instead of Christ," or "against Christ"...

Now ask yourself what it means to say "instead of Christ," other than to substitute

    SOMETHING or SOMEONE else.

For example, Luke 11: 11 exemplifies "instead of" at work.

11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?

Where are we going with this? The father who gives his son a serpent is anti-fish? Well, duh! There is an INSTEAD OF going on!

Let's look at another situation, shall we?

Every church I know of regards the 2nd Advent of Jesus to be an event that "every eye shall see" because of the passage in Revelation.
    Revelation 1:7
    New International Version (NIV)

7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,”
and “every eye will see him..."

We all know that one! We also know that Jehovah's Witnesses have been teaching a different Christ Jesus INSTEAD.

(Greek:Αντ?χριστος anticristos, meaning "instead of Christ") explaining and insisting that their own particular version (substitute) is INVISIBLE.

Jehovah's Witnesses had a reason to substitute A DIFFERENT Christ from the one expected in scripture. They desperately needed to prop up a failed chronology about End Times. Their teaching would fail if Christ Jesus wasn't invisible. They would be seen as false prophets.
    2nd John 7
For many deceivers have gone out into the world, men who will not acknowledge the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh; such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist.

What about the other meaning of χριστος?You know which one: Anointed? As in "the...anointed."

The Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses claim to be "anointed" as both kings and priests. They set themselves above others teaching that the bible is ONLY for themselves.
    --------------------------------------------------------

    1 John 2:18
    New International Version (NIV)

18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come..."

Αντ?χριστος: Plural. More than one... Who are they but people substituting their own importance and their own teaching INSTEAD of Jesus?

Hey now.....Sound like any people you know of?

There is a word in greek describing false anointed persons.

    ψευδ?χριστος
    transliterated: Pseudochristos (Sue- dok -kris-toes)
    = False anointed.

    ___________________________________________________________

    Meaning what?

Persons who pretend to have a special anointing for a special purpose but who prove false to their claims?

= Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses?

That is a serious accusation! Have the Watchtower leaders ever substituted their own authority in place of and instead of Jesus Christ?

QUESTION: Where is the missing CHRIST?

In the NUMBER ONE position are the FALSE ANOINTED who JW's receive and are loyal to INSTEAD OF Christ Jesus.

These false anointed have been misleading christians about when Jesus returns and who Jesus has appointed to teach.

Instead of the real Christ it is THEIR OWN authority and "anointing" they advertise and enforce.

    ψευδ?χριστος:

Look no farther than the Watchtower bible and tract society!

Quite true, though to most Christians, the Antichrist is the Beast of Revelation: a world leader who will consolidate power (probably after the collapse of the United States). Some believe he will come from Russia; others, China. One believes he will come out of Turkey, a revitalized Muslim leader. The hadiths of Muhammad declare that the day of resurrection will not come except they kill the Jews. Many Muslims believe in the coming of the Mahdi, a world leader who will lead them against the Jews. He will be accompanied by none other than Jesus Christ, who will reveal himself to Christians as the Messiah, but NOT the Son of God. Christians who resist him will be put to the sword. He will convert many through miracles.

The Bible prophesies that the Beast will come, and he will be accompanied by a "false prophet" who will perform miracles and convert many. They will go to war with Judah in Jerusalem, and will be held at bay by two prophets whom the Lord will raise. This last battle will be Armageddon.

This Beast is the so-called "Antichrist" that Christians expect. Of course there are other antichrists (small "A"), but I doubt that the Jehovah's Witnesses are important enough in the scheme of things to make much of a difference in world events.

Okay, get out your magnifying glass and carefully examine the picture.

Actually, I'll do it for you. Ah-ha, there He is, sitting, or huddled, on the right hand of the Father. As you can see, there's no glory surrounding Him as with the Father. (If the JWs actually knew that Jesus is Jehovah, not Michael, they'd probably make Him a little easier to see!) Speaking of that, the members of the Governing Body are more distinct.

I just want to know how the GOVERNING BODY knows it represents Jehovah as His faithful and wise servant?
