The new Tower of Babel!?

  I'm sure most of you who have spent any time in or around the org have noticed the emphasis placed on the need for an organization. I'm not sure if the emphasis has been increasing or if I am just more aware of it now, but the trust and faith that most witnesses place in "the organization" is shocking and scary at times. I was reading the account of the Tower of Babel a few days ago and noticed some similarities with the organization.

  1. The purpose of the tower was to create a unity among a group of people.
  2. All of the people spoke the same language.
  3. Jehovah caused confusion among them by creating new languages.

  My take on the situation is that men were relying on each other as a physical group for a bond of unity rather than their faith and dependence on god to guide them through spirit. What are your thoughts?

  The most interesting aspect of the account of the Tower of Babel (not that I believe it's true), is this:

  The account says, god feared if he did not sabotage human efforts, 'there's nothing he will not be able to accomplish'.

  What was god afraid of?

  What are humans capable od accomplishing that god must wreck?

  God perceived their intentions and in His infinite wisdom,

  He knew this "stairway to heaven would only lead the people

  away from from God". How? If I was God I would have thought,

  how nice they are trying to reach heaven, me.

  Was God fearful of the powerful force within their unity of

  purpose. Was he impeding man's development because they

  were progressing to fast.

  Let's see, the Tower of Babel about 15-20 stories, today how

  many.

  Maybe we are not getting the true meaning of this story.

  Let's look at it as a way to persevere the human race, the

  human race may not have survived.

  He produced diversity in the human race (that's a good thing).

  He used the people seeds, scattering them across the

  whole earth (his original purpose).

  It doesn't make sense, "the people were as one, nothing

  will limit there imagination" what's the problem God.

  But I'm an agnostic, what the hell do I know.
