I was reading the forums over at ravelry.com and came upon one about knitting for fictional characters. These folks want to knit something for the characters in Twilight, for instance, or TLOTR. I was reading along, thinking what dweebs these folks are, and how they need to get a life, until someone mentioned she'd like to knit socks for Mad-Eye Moody.

I sat right up! I WOULD knit something for Mad-Eye Moody, only I think a scarf is a better idea. A good long scarf in strange colors with pockets and loops and hooks and secret buttons. But, don't count me in among the dweebs with no life who have nothing better to do than fantasize about knitting for fictional characters. That's not me. Mad-Eye Moody is a special exception.

Btw there was a guy at work who taught himself how to knit so he could make a Dr. Who scarf.. he brought it to show us. He actually made it the same length as the original. It was funny because he was very short.

That must have been funny -- it was a very long scarf originally

Did you ever knit that scarf? My husband crocheted a scarf for my daughter that looks like the ravenclaw scarf from Harry Potter. She is a big fan.
