Lett said, "If you accept counterfeit money, you lose money. But if you accept the counterfeit words of apostates you could lose your life. We must beware of this voice of strangers. But you know sadly some even among Jehovah’s have foolishly reasoned that would be beneficial to give ear to the voice of apostates. They thought, if I read his book, if I listen to him on the television, if I listen to him via the computer then I’ll be able to see how wrong they are, and actually it will build up my faith, and if I ever encounter this king of reasoning out in the ministry I’ll be better able to refute it. Well dear friends, that kind of reasoning is very foolish."

They are still being bit in the butt by Ray Franz book. "Priceless"

    LOL

If they had the truth they'd have nothing to fear from 'apostates'. Seriously, if someone told you the earth was flat and was going to prove it, what would you say? You'd say, "Sure, knock yourself out!" because they can't prove it. Problem with 'apostates' is, they claim the earth is an oblate spheroid and can prove it, while Lett and his ilk are metaphorically saying it's flat.

Does he explain why "this reasoning is very foolish ?", if he does not, then such reasoning could be, in fact is, very good reasoning.

If the WT were teaching the truth. If they were it would have nothing to fear, just as the genuine $100 bill has nothing to fear when compared to the counterfeit one.

Truth will stand any scrutiny, lies fall down when confronted with truth.

So, from whose point of view would "listening to the voice of a sranger" be foolish ?

Only the WT's, because they do not teach truth.

He also mentions the Hitler letter in this talk. Saying it was an apostate lie.

Who was jesus talking to in his early ministry ? Was it not the jews who had the scriptures of the hebrew texts?. Did jesus condemn them as apostates because those he was talking to ,,accepted the hebrew scriptures and they had different veiws to him ? No he didnt shun them at any stage , Jesus is nowhere shown as shunning anybody , unlike jehovahs witnesses who will shun members of their own family if they dont tow the line .smiddy

There is no such thing as a a threat to truth, only a lie which by its nature can be proven untrue! So there is no threat, unless the lie is true and the cult is a lie!

They are such devious bastards. They know that JW's are reasoning that they should know alternate views so that they can refute them, and also prove themselves to be true and they are saying that if you are thinking like this.... It is damgerous. Who else says this?

i don't know how such evil sleeps at night,
