Yes, would running for community service such as an administrator for a town, considered political? Would it be a mark of the beast? If you answer yes, what is the mark of the beast? Did not Bible characters play in political roles in Egypt and Babylon? Why do elders who supposedly be appointed theocratically become political?

I think the mark of the beast is the vestigal marks of our beginning as an animal origin, evolutionary creature from the worlds of space. We were made a little lower than angels, creatures with physical bodies but indwelt by the spirit of God.
After this life, we are more spiritual and less physical.
And the same after that life, more spiritual, less physical.
As we continue to evolve through our universe career we gradually lose all physicality, all evidence of our origin as evolutionary animal creatures. We loose the "mark of the beast."
