I just read "Blood Witness", a book about a young JW who becomes a vampire. I'm not a huge fan of vampire books, but I thought it was pretty good.
My favorite part of the book is when the main character starts to doubt his faith. (Spoiler alert) He recognizes how much leaving will cost him and still wonders if maybe the JWs do have the truth. However, he decides that even if they have the truth, he doesn't want to live forever in the company of other JWs. I thought it was an effective way to portray the deconversion process without getting bogged down in a lot of doctrine. I thought the female vampire love interest was likable (for a blood sucking creature of the night). There was some gore and unsavory elements that might bother some readers, but I didn't think it was excessive. Has anybody else here read the book?
