OK! Surely the answer is that the Americas were discovered by the first humans to get there - almost certainly east Asians. But the popular answer is almost always Columbus.

This view has been under challenge, by some popular writers who argue that other groups made it before Columbus. A strong arguement can surely be made for northern (viking?) Europeans.

A new book argues for Chinese visits also prior to Columbus, It's just released and is entitled:

FullTime , Ooohhhhhhh, Another goodie. Thank you so much. You give us such a fabulous array of reading delights to pick from.

My only problem. As an American we are taught this little rhyme:

In 1492, Columbus sailed The Ocean Blue

Now as an Enlightened American, understanding "we" were discovered by Admiral Zheng He, before 1421, should the above be changed to:

Zheng He's mighty Ship came sailing in, to a beautiful New Land

The Map he used, was marked brand new, and 1421 was the Landing date

Aaaaaahhhhh ... Not quite the same. lol

It was the Native Americans. You can't discover a land where people where already living.

    ...freaking colonials. :P

But seriously, that book looks interesting. May have to check it out. lol

Ask the society...they have the truth about everything and something to back it up with and of course no one would dare to argue with them.
