... learning the [new] truth can be a shattering experience.

“The truth is often disagreeable, because it fails to support prejudice or myth.” The Encyclopedia Americana

Seeing our ... [past] ... beliefs exposed as untrue can be disillusioning, especially if we were taught by trusted religious leaders. Some might liken the experience to finding out that trusted parents were, in fact, secret criminals.

But is not finding out religious truth better than living under a delusion? Is it not better to know the facts than to be manipulated by lies?

When it comes to physical realities, such as medicine, mathematics, or the laws of physics, even the staunchest relativist will believe that some things are true. Who of us would dare to ride in an airplane if we did not think that the laws of aerodynamics were absolute truths? Verifiable truths do exist; they surround us, and we stake our lives on them. ( All of above texts quoted from: 1995 The Watchtower, July 1, par. 5,7 & 8 )

Don't stake your lives on metaspiritual truths!

“The truth is often disagreeable, because it fails to support prejudice or myth.” - The Encyclopedia Americana

Great quote! Does anyone know what article in the EA that appears? I tried to search it and just end up with references to this single unspecific sourcing.

    back into the future.

    1) the Faithful & Discreet Slave (at present the 8) will receive the absolute rule over ALL (the cosmos except the big J&Js) before, during or after Armageddon.

    2) the apostles, all 143 992 past or present sealed anointed are NOT part of the F&DS. but are said in this wt

    3) to also come to rule with Christ because the 8 graciuously will SHARE the authority with them, concurrent with the marriage of the bride. so

    4) since the 143 992 + 8 receive the F&DS' reward,

they must have been the F&Ds all along anyway. this finished wt notwithstanding.

Very telling is the quote continuation in that Encylopedia Americana when it says:

In the short run, the suppression of known truth and the prohibition of free inquiry into truths yet unknown often serve some special interest or privilege.

How true, when the spotlight of special privilege is on the 'Glorious Eight'.

And have they not just done so by prohibiting the flock to do a free inquiry into things (research) ?
