Yuck..sitting in front of me, today, I saw an Elder picking his nose while his wife was commenting on the WT study. Then with the same hand, he grabbed the microphone and passed it back to the Microphone carrier.

He didn't even have a kleenex. Gross. At least 30 people held that microphone after that.

Yes, from the hand of the few, many were fed

We were out in service the one day and the sister driving the vehicle said oh my god. She said so and so who is sitting in the back seat behind her just picked his nose. I turned around and saw him roll it in a ball and wipe it on the back of her seat behind her. She was driving. She then asked me what did he do with it and I told her what I saw, then I grabbed a kleenex box and gave it to him and turned my head to the front looking out the side window laughing until the tears wouldn't stop flowing. He use to be an old order mennonite. After that, I would argue with hubby saying he is not coming into our car so he can wipe his snot all over my side of the car. Gross!

Perhaps you could approach him in your brother sincere persona, and suggest that in the interest of keeping the congregation clean, he could be a little more mindful of where he puts his buggers

If this is what he is prepared to do in full view, one shudders to think what he would do with those fingers of his when he is not in full view.

Yuk! Also, never shake a man's hand while he is eating a sandwich.

Yesterday I was at the local mall eating a Subway sandwich when I see a husband and wife from my neighborhood pass. He is looking unusually scrappy. He is always somewhat scruffy, but now even more so. Long silver hair and scraggly white beard. He likes to brag that he retired at age 48. Anyway, he comes by and puts out his hand for a handshake. I olbilge and carry on the small talk. Now I don't want to touch my food. I have no idea where his scrappy hands have been.

Worse than that can be found on microphones. Suppose someone changed a diaper and did not wash their hands properly, and then handles the microphone. As it turns out, those microphones are as full of germs as public phones used to be. Other dirty surfaces are shopping cart handles, doorknobs in public places (not in sunlight, since sunlight tends to disinfect surfaces), and computer keyboards in libraries. These surfaces are even worse than your toilet seat. I suggest using one of those UVA lights to disinfect such surfaces if you can--especially in keyboards and when using the public phone in a non-emergency situation.

And worse than the germs found on the microphone is what comes out of the speaker. You are being fed spiritually deadening rubbish from the speaker. At least, what is on the microphone is often in the air, which is usually stagnant in a place like that. If you listen to the rubbish coming out of the system, you are being infected with something worse than a cold or flu. Handling the microphone is not required, and putting a UVA light is not going to help.

I think these dirty habbits are away of life throughout the general public and not a jw only thing.

For example I work in the emergency services field, and I see repeatedly firemen, including fire commanders, take a piss or a dump and just walkout of the toilet withoutwashing their hands. These are airport fireys and are resposable for first call first aid over the entire airport and surrounding land.

Don't trust anyone, that, they are going to be clean.

My advise, keep a number of hand sanitizers handy
