The recent gathering of Cardinals with the Pope regarding the pedophile priests issue is a good sign that they are taking this most seriously. The Pope spoke out against pedophile priests and his intention to have a zero tolerance policy. He spoke out on behalf of the victims and their affected families. The Catholic Church has a ways to go to fully address this issue, including building confidence in their proposals.
It will be interesting to see if Watchtower, Inc. is able to at least follow the lead of the Catholic Church.
I'll bet you a dollar two ninety-eight that the WTBTS won't even come close to displaying the kind of contrite honesty we now see issuing from the Catholic Church. I don't think they're basically honest enough.
While I'm at it, I'd like to add that given the intense coverage we now see in the media about pedophilia in the Catholic Church, we may never see the Erica stuff on Dateline. I hate to say this, but it seems only logical.
And now we've got the Robert Blake murder stuff too.
It just looks really iffy for the Dateline program. Timing. Lucky timing for the WTBTS.
I don't think the WTS will address this situation head on or even subtly, because it would totally undermine their Elder arrangement policies. If the number of alleged child abusers are correct, over 23,000 on file, the WTS could not afford that kind of exposure. They would have to be "forced" to address, exspose and eliminate the situation. If that happens then the members would lose confidence in their "laws". It is a lose, lose situation for them. It seems that they are about to receive the hardest blow in their history.

Perhaps now that the whole Catholic thing is in the media, this would be perfect timing for Dateline to air Erica's story. Everybody is already thinking about pedofilia and angry over the loss of innocence. I would imagine timing is prime!
I'm sure the Watchtower will find a way to put themelves above what the Catholics do. Admitting there is an existing problem and ensuring publicly that something needs to be done about it might be enough to kill off the Governing Body..LOL

Perhaps Dateline will complete the coverage by getting more facts? One thing is for sure, the GB are watching the news and having nightmares at night. eh? Maybe even getting up several times to go to the bathroom.
