NO MENTION is made whatsoever of a story upcoming profiling the JW and pedophilia.

I suppose the HUGE scandal revealing the corruption within Catholicism has taken the wind out of their sails.

Just found this interesting for those still holding wishes for a Dateline expose on the JW.

Yes it ran on NBC last night. I watched, and I ws surprised how many of those shows I had seen!

The only one I don't remember was the one where the egg companies repackage the eggs for sale with the freshly laid ones, even when they are weeks old. Yeccch!

I don't personally think a show on Dateline will affect JWs. Many of my friends are Catholic and NOT ONE of them has expressed the moral outrage that is rightly deserved. Just more excuses. I think the JW will make the same excuses.

Well as LDH can verify, it made reference to a wonderful 10 years, and covered the best stories of interest that Dateline has reported over the last 10 years. Future in the article was referenced as to wishing another productive 10 years for the show. It did not specifically provide a report of what future topics would be discussed, but with the Catholic scandal so WIDESPREAD and with such an in-depth look into Dateline.. it would have been the ideal time to report a JW show or at the very least advertise it if it were indeed REAL.

Dont get me wrong, I sincerely would LIKE for the Dateline on JW to air.. just personally I do not believe that it will happen.

Why do you think that the story will not air? Just because of the Catholic Church expose? If what the Silentlambs web page has been posting over the past year is true and DATELLINE has invested all of those man hours investigating and recording why would they have done all that work in vain? I just find it hard to believe they will scrap this year + long project that easily. Too, I seriously doubt that the PR guys in Brooklyn are THAT good at persuading one of the biggest if not THE biggest news agency to not report a story on a religious organization which is so quick to point the finger at the wrongs committed by other religious groups.

No I do not believe the GB in Brooklyn possess that kind of supernatural power to persuade a news agency NOT to air. However, one must remember on a global scale the JW are a very trivial minority.

Roughly 6,000,000 in a population over 7,000,000,000.

Honestly? 95% percent of the viewing public DOES NOT CARE.

Not to mention, with the Catholic scandal the general gublic will/already has become somewhat desensitized to exposes on religious leaders masking molestation or assault on children. Many people Ive encountered are already tired of hearing about the Catholic priests.

Not to mention, since before I lurked on this website.. well over a year ago people were triumphantly proclaiming this Dateline episode would air.

You cry wolf one too many times.. people stop believing you.

Good points. I just HOPE you are wrong. I'm so tired of the "holier than thou" attitude of the Watchtower; it would be so satisfying to have a reputable program like DATELINE give them a little run for their money- Just wishful thinking.

Dont get me wrong Quandary.. I HOPE I am wrong as well.

I would like nothing more than for a primetime special to air exposing in detail the hideous crimes committed by the WTS.

I am simply looking at the entire situation with a rational mind, and not with my heart.
