I was DF`d 27 years ago. My crime? I refused to ignore a number of DF`d friends, so eventually I was also given the "Order of the Welly-Boot". Hence, my presence here now, one totally unrepentent [=:]APOSTATE![=:]
Of course, that`s not the picture I present to people who are still JW`s. I have relatives who, though fading somewhat in their convictions, would scurry back to the KH screaming: "Demons, demons!" if they knew how I really feel about the WTBTS.
Then there is my occasional drinking buddy who is an elder to boot, now famous on H20 as the "Dub - in - the - Pub", with whom I have frequent "upbuilding" conversations.
Your rascally Englishman will strike up encouraging and sympathetic talking points that, on the surface, are innocent, and yet are calculated to work on the imprinted JW`s subconscious mind. Such as:
"Did you ever succeed in buying another house after selling your home prior to 1975? No? And you retire next year? Hmmm. Have the society ever introduced a pension plan to ease you into old age? No? Have you thought of cleaning windows part-time? I know its tricky with you only having one leg, but you could always just do bungalows."
Or: "Hi, Auntie Lou, I`m sorry that you can`t get a lift to the meetings, don`t worry, I`ll take you in my car and then push you into the KH in your wheel-chair, then I`ll wait outside the KH during the meeting, then I`ll come back inside for you. What? Some of the brothers could be stumbled? Oh. Sorry, I was just trying to help, I didn`t realise that my being DF`d all those years ago would still be a problem, no statute of limitation then, eh?"
Now, I realise that there may well be some priggy people who will point their fingers, and say that they knew that us apostates were a devious bunch. And I don`t care! My little bit of mischief is as nothing compared to the misdeeds of the WTBTS, and, anyway, I love puncturing the ego`s of the pompous.
Don`t you?
Englishman.
