My problem with most x-jw gathering is that they are usually some other christian group or religion trying to recruit former JW's into their flock. It's like having a former gambling addicct meeting but secretly planning to have them invest in risky real estate deals. It's taking advantage of them.

isnt it a bad idea to post names, locations, phone numbers and addresses of our meetings on a public board like this? if i were planning to go i would cancel now. the internet is open to psychos all over the place. i may just be paranoid but no way i would want this posted if i was going to be there.

LB, some are, some aren't. Give her the benefit of the doubt, besides which we can make our own decisions as Big boys and girls, ok?

Flower, her name etc have been posted on the internet for maybe a year now and she's doing fine. Each knows their own circumstances. Some shouldn't, others can and do.

I can see your point. I guess the other side of the story is that thousands of ex-jws and those just questioning the WT, have no idea that there are conventions, support groups, etc.

The big one, New Ringgold, is no secret to the WT. For several years a group would charter a bus the day before the Penn. convention, and go to Brooklyn, to demonstrate at the WT headquarters, the day before the convention. Also TV programs have been made from the Penn. convention.

But, for anyone wanting to attend the Penn. convention and remain anonymous, it should be no problem. There are several hundred there and no one is required to speak. So, you can be there without anyone knowing who you are, if you choose.

I should mention that a convention is coming up in central California in about 7 weeks. Anyone wanting more info, can e-mail me.

HI,

It was a very good turn out. We had 17 show up.

I ask permission first from the sponser of the event to print the name, adresses and phone number. How ould people know where to show up or who was sponsering the event if I did not post the information? I am much more confortable knowing who is sponsering the event and where to contact them. Since the sponser did not have an email address, I volenteer for them to be an Internet contact.

BTW, no weido or whaco did attend the event.

We are hoping to have another meeting in three months. Next time I will have more information in advance.
