She is having a hysterectomy today. If she haemorrhages I know she'll firmly refuse lifesaving treatment. I'll be glad when today is over.

She had a spinal block instead of general anaesthetic, and she's back on the ward now. She's spoken to my dad and sounds bright and has no pain (yet!). So early signs are good.

She spoke to my dad again this morning and sent me a text. She had a comfortable night and had porridge for breakfast. She may be discharged today! But I think that is too soon.
