I remember that episode. They present one form of a cult, which was fine, but most people end up thinking that is the only form.

To me the easiest way to spot a dangerous cult/dangerous organization is when the image/welfare of the organization is more important than protecting individuals and their human rights, the organization promotes shunning former members and not associating with non-members, and/or the organization promotes that members blindly follow the organization/leaders without members critically thinking for themselves.
