I was thinking of this when I was sitting at the Kingdom Hall today. One of the paragraphs in the watchtower stated that the type/anti type teachings were too hard for some to understand. Really? I could never figure them out Never made sense to me.

I really think that was the wts plan all along to baffle the average publisher to make them feel submissive to the organization because they couldn't make sense of nonsense teachings.

When no one understands what it is they are trying to tell us, the default answer is "It all makes sense now". It all makes sense because I read it with my own eyes in a WT mag.

    Yes, good point!

The GB thrive on the flock thinking that they alone are the oracle of truth, and that mere lowly insignificant sheep are not intelligent enough to grasp the things the GB know...

So, lets review, "LISTEN, OBEY, AND BE BLESSED.... But leave the thinking to us"

I liked how they refered to some obscure example from the 30's most all in the halls have never heard of. What a crock

It is the wt "mystery" aka "sacred secret"tm only the top are said to understand. "Holy" can not and need not be questioned. Listen obey and-- be left high and dry (drained of your resources) with no recourse to get them back. .

It was like that for me with the whole Adamic Sin/ransom sacrifice thing; I had real trouble wrapping my head around how it was all supposed to work.

As for types and antitypes, credit where credit's due...

...say what you will about Fred Franz, but the man had a hell of an imagination.

I think they had to come to admit it was complicated because they've realized the internet community is explaining it for them.

Well maybe they had to say it difficult to understand, because they do not understand it themselves, some of these teachings were before their time.

The witnesses were having a field day where I was with the bits about it not being for the intellectuals, It was getting totally out of hand like you have to be a dumbf%$k to be humble and worthy.

FINALLY one older sister with obviously half a brain put and end to it, saying intellect doesn't mean you can't be humble and worthy... she spoke of Luke, Matthew etc... to be like cool it guys, they all weren't fisherman.

Then the conductor and all the bobble headed sheep agreed almost in unison, "oh yes of course, we aren't saying that intellectual people are incapable of humility" I looked at the wife and was like "thank god (my god Zeus of course) she stopped that insanity."

Also "light getting brighter" was used throughout ad nauseam! Every time I cringed and told the wife, "they are completely misquoting that that over and over again". Afterwards she had to agree, but said "it's not in the watchtower" so blamed it... as usual.... on imperfect people....
