A nice stout piece of cellophane tape on the slot should do. Preferably one that extends at least 2 cm beyond the opening on all sides and sticks to the entire slot. A nice sign "Out of Order", similar to what they place on working candy vending machines at Grand Boasting Sessions, should reinforce the idea that, no money for candy at a$$emblies, no money to spread their smut worldwide.
