The new local Circuit Overseer, and Presiding Overseer visited Mom last Friday, at our home, where she is living now. I was gone, taking my Dad to his doctor appointment.
They were here for over two hours, and she said the CO was wonderful to her about her living here. The only thing said about us, was what a wonderful thing we are doing, by caring for our elderly as we are. He did ask about our association with the congregation, and she said "they are inactive, but they are just wonderful to me."
Nothing was said about our call to Patterson, three weeks ago, and the congregation has not announced anything about visiting her either, as the man at Patterson told me to tell them to do. I think they may be waiting for his letter, which he said he is sending as a follow up to my call. They must not believe me.
My husband was home, in the back of the house, and he overheard (through the heat register) the CO saying, "We are the only people on the earth who worship Jehovah God." He's got a lot of nerve saying something like that.
The CO included Mom in his prayer yesterday (a friend told me this), and now everyone knows he came to visit her. That should make a difference, but I won't be surprised if no one comes anyway.
