Could the preaching work be "one of the great signs to mislead many, even the elect?"

  I was thinking the other day, could the preaching work be another of the signs Jesus mentioned when he said many would come in his name and

  perform many powerful works in his name.

  23 “Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. 25 See, I have warned you about this ahead of time.

  The preaching work IS a powerful work, there is no doubt about that given the enormous number of languages the literature is published in and the billions of hours spent preaching.

  The message they preach is not that preached in the 1st century.

  Their message is misleading.

  The way the good news is being preached is very 20th/21st century. The technology, the presses, the computers. It's true that you can't deny the greatness of the scope of the Witness approach to spreading the news. You pose an interesting question, for sure. My issue is " how can God expect us to sort all of that out?"

  Maybe Jesus expects his message to reach people in a much more subdued way, but thoroughly, and without the prejudice that immediately kicks in when JW's come knocking.

  if that is true, why do so few people actually know what the jw's are all about? their core doctrines? why they go door to door? why jw's refuse to admit they are jw's at your door? are jw's Christians? I get that question all the time from people and naturally the answer is NO. With all the bragging they do and prideful talks about how wonderful they are spreading their false gospel and yet nobody knows what they are about?

  What the watchtower calls "preaching" is a meaningless busy activity in place to keep the R&F in line. It is used as a means of control.

  Perhaps in the past there were those who knew the bible and were able to teach. But those days are long gone. So, to link the churning of jws to any bible prophesy is silly.

  I am no longer impressed by all of the WT numbers that are thrown around.

  How many minutes of each hour are actually spent talking to someone? Maybe 5 if its door to door and return visits. The studies might be actual time spent, but then again they count the time to and from the study, and lots of them are 15 minute studies with kids and the parents count an hour. Then add all the time counted when they are sitting in a coffee shop or at lunch.

  Its a big game of screwing off while reporting some time to keep the elders off of your back.

  The same arguments can be made for their literature. Half of it rots in JW closets, the other half is thrown away when found on the door.

  Who is Paul referring too ( false prophets)? Process of elimination, what

  organization today proselytize in the door to door work, JW's and Mormons.

  Both organization preach a different Gospel but which organization have

  blatantly preached false dates for the end time, JW's. Both are guilty of

  misleading the flock but the GB, big time.

  It's nuts, JW's will tell you Christianity are the false prophets but yet they

  follow the Gospel, they teach the same massage as Jesus.

  JW's on the other hand you be the judge.

  The reason why no one knows what they teach is because they themselves

  have no idea what they are proselytizing. The only clear massage by JW's

  is when the end will come. LOL
