Why omit John 8:6?

.....if this verse may well constitute a symbolic allusion to the person of Messiah: he writes with the same authority as God, because he is God?

John 8:6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

Exodus 31:18 Now as soon as he had finished speaking with him on Mount Si′nai, he gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone written on by God’s finger.

Perhaps we have the REAL reason why this verse was omitted by the Watchtower and other mainstream religions?

I thought that it was John 8: 7 the bit about casting the first stone that was cut . When I saw this on another post I did some digging and it seems that this was not in many of the original manuscripts , in fact very few .

Even so it appears that a lot of scholars feel that it is authentiac as being said by Jesus so most are not worried about it being included in the gospel today .

I am not sure why you say that it has been ommited by mainstream religions , it is still in my NIV which was published in 2003 and which was a collaboration by people from lots of denominations .
