the slow motion showed some interesting features of that smooth cliff face like the pivoted-out lever, that the jumper hit.
This is why parachutes are not thought of as escape mechanism for burning high-rise structures.
Base jumpers like JWs, putting their trust in the promise of a high, but ending up low, often a bruising ride, with a predictable end.

I know this would not be posted if the jumper died, but after watching it, I thought his list of damage done to his body, would have been much longer.
It was beautiful to see the rock cliff up close.
It was horrible to see him filmed by an observer, flying down the rock face, then hit the ground.

From the head-mounted camera angle, it looks like the guy was intentionally aiming for the rock outcropping to perform some stunt to make the video more exciting, but hit it harder than he planned; he seemed to lose consciousness after hitting, as his hand remained limp thereafter.
I sure hope his addiction to the adrenaline rush was worth it, as some people don't realize how fragile their lives are until after they have a close-call like that....
