    Hi,

I know this is a long topix, but this week are bible highlights are 1John to Jude..& I think it's 1John or whatever, says Do not be part of this world because the world does not originate with the Father, then another scriptures says, the world is lying in the hands of the wicked one..Satan..yet, another scripture says, God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son...All different scriptures...What is the meaning of this. I would ask a witness but I don't want to...the forum is open to all...looking forward to comments...I just had a thought...maybe God sent his son to free those of the world, but don't he love the world..I'm confused..

Legacy This is a classic oxymoron. Like so much of the Bible it is contradictory.

Why waste precious time trying to make sense of the ridiculous?

    Hi Gladiator,

Zacherly, aka: Exactly. I was wondering if anyone would bite at this if it made sense to them. I thought it was contradictory, just checking, that I didn't drink all the kool-aide.

A JW will say that the bad "world" is the world of the ungodly. The world that is ruled by Satan. Everything that is bad, is from Satan's world. I have no issue with that. The problem is that the WTBTS arbitrarily decides what is bad and Satanic. They go beyond what is written and invalidate the word of God by the use man-made rules. So if the GB say it's bad, then it's bad, even when they are wrong. Take "higher education" for example. The Bible makes zero comments about Higher Education. The GB says that's it's bad and slaving for Satan.

    So, in review:

    1) Non-GB approved activities= Satanic/Worldly

    2) Being an obedient/unquestioning JW= good
