The only TEST allowed. . .is the test of LOYALTY in others

What you are not permitted to see, examine, test or question is where the magician hides his deceptions so the magic may be passed off as real.

Tyranny commences with certain assumptions which are not only unchallenged, but which MAY NOT be allowed a challenge.

These assumptions become, in effect, articles of faith on the one hand, and tests of loyalty on the other.

Accepting the untested leads to magic-thinking.

In Italy during World War II, the fascist leader Mussolini was said to be "always right." The brutish dictator magically knew somehow.

No counter-examples were permitted to be printed, spoken, discussed or debated without immediate punishments.

In Japan, the emperor was said to actually be a god. The pilots in his Air Force were sent to their sacrificial deaths as "Kamikaze" --the emperor's Divine Wind of death.

Under Stalin the Russian tyrant, it was demanded of the people that 3 harvests be brought to fruition each year under the assumption it would not

be demanded were it not possible. Not only did the people try, they starved by the millions sending off to the government graineries harvests which would have otherwise remained to feed their own villages.

Hitler promoted the proliferation of a German "Master Race" and the destruction of the Jews as the premise to a 1,000 paradise under the Third Reich.

As we all well know and understand, any who opposed these assumptions found themselves in concentration camps or summarily executed.

What could not be questioned led ultimately to the collapse of Germany and the death of millions.

These inimical dogmas could not have wrought the inestimable destruction that quickly arrived were it not for the clampdown on dissent, debate, public exposure to counter-evidence, etc.

What was demanded in each instance (above) was the total acceptance of an unproved and assumed truth as the foundation to belief and acceptance followed by unstinting efforts in loyalty and obedience.

LOYALTY became the only kind of tests allowed.

Wherever there exist punishment, censorship and condemnation for asking a probing question you will find tyranny.

Where you find a person's very THOUGHTS made a crime, you will find tyranny.

When loyalty is exhalted above proof and inquiry you will find tyranny.

The principle of uncertainty is that no thing is completely known or knowable to a moral absolute--therefore--vigilance is necessary to determine

where fact ends and unproven speculation begins.

What we don't know is always greater than what we do know.

So, how can any person or group claim exemption?

The test of education, moral integrity and modesty in inquiry comes with how OPENLY doubt, dissent and demands for tests of proof are ALLOWED.

Conversely, the failure of education and the collapse of integrity along with demonstrable hubris arrives with ANY DEMAND TO SILENCE open inquiry.

The premise of being an "anointed Governing Body" is a questionable assumption UNCHALLENGED because it is not allowed.

It is unprovable until it passes the necessary proof of testing its claims.

History gives abundant examples to any intellectually curious examiner of the record.

BUT THOSE ASSUMPTIONS REMAINED UNCHALLENGED within the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses for a very good reason.

It may be argued that false consolations are still consolations--as if that is an answer or a proof in itself. It is not.

Comforting delusions may be a comfort, yet, delusions they remain.

It is only those who claim to know the mind of Almighty God who owe an explanation as to HOW it may be demonstrated, tested and proved.

It is NOT an answer to say it must be so and therefore it is.

Assertions are not proved by making further assertions.

What are they afraid of--those Governing Body elite anointed?

Why have they become successful Tyrants and failures as humble slaves?

Isn't it because no challenge is allowed?

Hi Terry. I enjoyed your post, truly inspiring and informative. My husband also likens the GB to various dictatorships.

I thought of it like this. If you are accused of a crime and are in a Court of Law but KNOW you are innocent and you want to tell the truth, you will not refuse the questions of the Prosecution. Same as the truth. If it's truth and can be proved, it should stand up to questioning.

If Jehovah is a God of Justice, then the GB should allow questionings of it's doctrines and pratices, IMHO??

    Have a great day.

    Terri, we feel ya man!

“magician hides his deceptions so the magic may be passed off as real. ”

“What was demanded in each instance (above) was the total acceptance of an unproved and assumed truth as the foundation to belief and acceptance followed by unstinting efforts in loyalty and obedience. ”

In each of these authoritarian rulers, “change” was the hook. Then, they demand conformity.

Just because there is “a change” does not mean it is “good.”

    Even the Bible agrees:

(Proverbs 24:21-22) 21 My son, fear Jehovah and the king. With those who are for a change, do not intermeddle. 22 For their disaster will arise so suddenly, that who is aware of the extinction of those who are for a change?

Pol Pot, in Cambodia, with the Khmer Rouge:

The Khmer Rouge forced around two million people from the cities to the countryside to take up work in agriculture. They forced many people out of their homes and ignored many basic human freedoms; they controlled how Cambodians acted, what they wore, whom they could talk to, and many other aspects of their lives. Over the next three years, the Khmer Rouge killed many intellectuals, city-dwellers, minority people, and many of their own party members and soldiers who were suspected of being traitors. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khmer_Rouge

As you’ve pointed out, Terry, the history of the Watchtower Society fits this same pattern.

“Let’s change!” “How dare you question us!”

    “Execution” (by disfellowshipping)

    Great post Terry!

As we all know by now.."It's not the teachings that are important,, It's our OBEDIENCE to the teachings that will get us into the 'new system'".

    Nice Terry , well put.

In effect, the GB says: "YOU MAY NOT TEST OUR CLAIMS-but-WE MAY TEST YOUR LOYALTY to OUR CLAIMS."

Probably because the WTS heads know the claims are really fictitious in nature but are nevertheless advantageous

to the structural whole of the organization, entailing certain doctrines to be protected without inquiry or debate.

The WTS. after all is a publishing house with commercially inspired aspects toward its operations.

Think about how far the WTS. extendedly used the proclamation that the world is coming to its end

and that mankind is now living in its last days ?

Place critical argument toward that for example as a JWS and you would quickly find yourself muzzled and shamed.

Dogmatism is many times found to be crippling for advancing knowledge and understanding of who we are

and how we can possibly improve are selves in the human experience.

"Where you find a person's very THOUGHTS made a crime, you will find tyranny.

" However, we cannot hope to acquire a good relationship with Jehovah if we ignore those whom Jesus has appointed to care for his belongings. Without the assistance of “the faithful and discreet slave,” we would neither understand the full import of what we read in God’s Word nor know how to apply it. " Examining the Scriptures Daily 2012 Mar 4

Avoid questioning the counsel (doctrine) that is provided by God's visible organization. Some who point out that the organization has had to make some adjustments (to doctrine) before, and so they argue: "This shows that we have to make up our own mind on what to believe." This is independent thinking. It is dangerous!" Watchtower 1983 Jan 15 p.22

"Tyranny of authorityall such tactics are marshaled to assail your mind and take it by storm. Sound evidence, reasoning, logic?

s deadliest foes! He therefore attempts to rout reason and stimulate passion. "

After reading Animal Farm, I can see the WTBS uses the same kinds of tactics.

'We are your leaders, we are here to help you.... How dare you speak against us.'
