I just thought that was interesting. I don't recall any literature published in the USA being made in another country before.

Can have them made better (in paper quality anyway) and cheaper there?

It's always about the money with the WT

It was probably a combination of that and perhaps there are no japanese ex jw websites? Maybe the ones in the printing press in Japan are only accepted if they don't speak english?
I wonder if it was merely cheaper or in part for information control?

Only the US, Brazil and Japan have the equipment to produce deluxe and hardcover Bibles, I guess that is why they had Japan produce some of them for the AGM.
But strangley, our "Imitate Their Faith " books were printed in Germany instead of Wallkill and the recent video on WT Farms said Wallkill produced 17 million books last year. They made 28 million in 2008.
So is the "last year" 2012? There was no new book released at the DC that year so book production probably went down worldwide that year.
But if it means the 2013 SY (which now is "last year"), then something is weird because with the new Imitate book released book production should have gone up.
Perhaps they needed to use the presses for the new Bible? Still, that was not for the whole year. And if they are moving some printing for the US to Germany to save money, why all the expansion at Wallkill?
Hmm? Answers are needed!
