Nope!
I didn't even know about these things when I left. I never knew about the questionable 607bce year, the teaching that Christ had already returned pre-1914, the UN scandal, the blood issue, pedophile paradise, Rutherford was a drunk, the cover-ups, flip-flops, deceptions...
Found out all that afterword. I just about threw my neck out twitching over all the "ah-ha" moments I had after leaving.
No it didn't, I was df'd still thinking they had 'the Truth', I just couldn't handle the pressure anymore. Within a year I learned what's hidden behind the 'Kingdom smiles' and was glad I was free.
Great letter by the way, thanks for posting!
I ceased going DtoD because I could not teach what was not in the Bible, i.e 1914. I had concluded for myself that year, 1914, was simply not in the Bible as a fulfillment of any prophecy however hard you tried to stretch things, unless you were completely mad, or completely dishonest.
I felt rather lost and alone, so I went on-line and found many similar views ! I was heartened no end. In the next few weeks I read loads on the Net, found out about the U.N thing, discovered this site, ordered and read COC and ISOCF by Ray Franz.
Even when I walked away, though I knew a lot, I had not worked it all out as clearly as Len Miller, bless him.
Got it all clear in my mind now though, the WT/JW thing is simply a money making scam.

It was easier to hide their lies when they controlled their history books, 1975 YB and Proclaimers book. Few people had access to the originals from the 1920's, the 1959 Divine Purpose book, maybe even the 1975 YB... I know several jws that left based on what they read in the Proclaimers. I went back to the 1920's books in my family library. Very eye-opening and told a different story than the Proclaimers book. I asked my grandmother about 1925 and realized it was one of the reasons they left (they hated Rutherford).
