One of the founders of Rock N Roll passed earlier today, 74. As Bob Dylan said "we owe these guys everything".

We saw them in concert a few years ago with Simon and Garfunkel, who equally praised their pioneering work. They sounded great.

Here they sing Bob Dylan's "Abandoned Love"

The Everly Brothers inspired so many artists. One of the stories is that they would sit on the floor in a recording studio and work out the arrangements and harmonies. Simon and Garfunkel would follow in their footsteps which created their unique sound.

The oblique two part descent harmonies in the Beatles "Please Please Me" was straight from the Everly Brothers "Cathy's Clown".

I love them both, Everly Brothers and Beatles. So sad that Phil has died, but he'll always be remembered for the great music he and his brother have left us.
