Can someone provide a reference for when the WT was supposedly infiltrated during Rutherford's rule by the FBI?

I cannot help, I hope someone can, and I do have a recollection of having heard of this.
What I find funny is that obviously the FBI decided this loony group were no threat, yet if the WT was chosen by god they would have threatened the whole fabric of society, in theory.

Mr. Fascist did not believe they were God's organization. A lot of information has become public. There should be a source to verify it. My mom said the FBI was very active in northern Jersey. A lot of family friends went to prison. My uncle had to provide the FBI with detailed information of KH members. They were thorough. She despised Hoover - even when he worshipped.
In fact, I thought she had a WT bias against Hoover. She understated how bad and loathsome the man was. Within one generation, the FBI was trying to recruit me so they could clean up after Hoover. I told the agent I would never do it. There is a humorous side to it. I asked if he had to do physical challenging things and he answered in the affirmative.
I am not the sort to be on the ground on a field all night without moving. The agents seemed very nice.

You can file a Freedom of Information Act request. Someone here should know already.

I can't believe that someone here has never filed a Freedom of Information Act request. There are some law journals dealing with religion and state. It should be available there. I don't know how to get access to law review articles outside of a commercial legal database. Perhaps Google Scholar has some references in history. Anoher source might be bios of Hoover.
