    *vent ahead*

For the small percentage of the population jws are, they make a disproportionate amount of ruckus for hospitals. I'm not just talking blood here, either.

waaah, your clerk accidentally typed the 3-letter code "jew" instead of "jeh" when recording religious preference. You're persecuting us by trying to keep our elders from finding us when they visit the hospital, and you're violating our Constitutional rights! I think I'll call Caesar to get you in trouble.

I'm gonna lie about being a guardian because I don't want you giving my sister meds she needs and wants, and then threaten to sue you if you don't do what I want.

If you help your patient get well, I'm gonna get him dfd because we don't believe in healthy boundaries.

    etc.

    Bunch of whiners.

*To answer your inevitable question, yes, I call CPS and APS on their asses whenever it's warranted.

Well, they say claim kosher when you fly. Better meals. The witness should be grateful for the typo.

The wtbts's blood stance has, in a way, made rank and file jw's and the medical community enemies. JW's are taught in a subliminal sort of way that the medical community is 'out to get them'. As a former elder I talked to many who were afraid to get critical medical care because of the fear of having something "forced" on them. i also worked in a hospital for several years and know that 99% of medical professionals want to help preserve life and health. Too bad Rutherford and Mad Freddy came up with the "blood" prohibition.

It's true. They come across as clinically paranoid.

And all the animosity is in one direction. Medical ethics demands respect for an individual's right to refuse treatment, even if in the opinion of the medical professional, it is the best option available. There are serious studies around how to respect the wishes of objectors.

Too bad the respect is one-way.
