yet, Jon, it is about the level of control over the mind so many jws will give to the organization. THAT is super scary. it means they will obey blindly, and how far will that go? Only time will tell.

The Deborah Layton quote is well worth repeating as it applies equally to JWs:

Was it mass suicide or mass murder?
Dr. Peter D. Beter (deceased 1987), felt it was a planned massive cover/distraction by combined USA/Israeli military to camouflage their attack on a Russian missile base that was right around the corner from Jonestown. They didn't want the Russians to know they were planning to attack them so they provided the "cover" of a "mass suicide" at Jonestown to distract worldwide attention. None of that, of course, negates the cult-brainwashing aspect of Jim Jones' followers. That part is definitely true. Otherwise, those people would NOT have been in Guyana in the first place. As the vice-grip of the WT around the neck of the JWs seems to tighten more & more in their literature, it is definitely a warning to the wise to get out!
