Lies - Professional and Amateurish

  I believe Churchill said during WW2 that "truth is so important,
  it must be protected by a bodyguard of lies". Thus, governments
  and businesses learn to be professional about telling lies
  - or else keep their mouths shut.

  What's disturbing about the Society is NOT ONLY that it choses
  to lie to the public - but also that its lies are so amateurish,
  'off the cuff', and ad hoc. COMPETENT liars make sure that their
  stories are not such that the facts contradict them almost
  instantaneously. If the Society's representatives do such a poor
  job in informing the public, how will they ever face a harsh
  cross examination by an attorney? I'm hearing about people
  calling Paterson with questions they don't want to answer
  and getting "say anything" replies. Good CONSPIRATORS should
  get their stories straight - or else say nothing!

  For Pete's sake, Bethel!
  If you can't lie competently
  then stop lying altogether!

  I believe the Society's lying problem is due to the simple fact that they are so stupid that they actually believe themselves.

  Witnesses have become adept at holding mutually exclusive, contradictory ideas. They have a system of dealing with them mentally. When a JW repeats a lie to another JW (say for example: we don't believe that only JW's will survive armageddon), the listener is falling over himself to believe the crap. So, when they need to lie to an outsider, they simply rationalize the lie and carry on.

  Unfortunately for them, outsiders are a lot more savy. They can tell a lie when they see one, and outsiders are not looking for reasons to believe. They are looking for evidence.

  So, it should come as no surprise that JW's are amateurish, unsophisticated liers. It's because they don't think they are lying.
