When the elder called to talk to me the other day, he told me that one of my problems was that he didn't want to boost my ego, but that I have a higher than average intellectual ability and part of my problem was that I look too deep into things. I tend to analyze things a bit too much. He thinks its because I went to college, that may be part of my problem.

Imagine that, I'm just too smart. I guess we are all just too smart for our own good. Jehovah only wants stupid people in his new world. Well, stupid people iritate the heck out of me and if that is all that is going to be there, count me out.

That's it keep them ignorant and then they will just go along with whatever you say.

That's why they talk about "honest-hearted ones" and "sheep", and why they say not to try to preach to people who have studied - i.e really studied - the bible. They want people to emote, not to think.
The next time an elder says something like that to you, punch him in the face. Hard.

Hmmmmm, was he praising 'your' intelligence or 'his?' They say, it takes one to know one.

By the time the third or fourth elder told me "you think too much," I knew that getting out was a good idea.

Let me translate what the ELDER was saying to you:

"lv4fer you are starting to think. You are not letting the society think for you. But I don't want to say it's your fault, because that would be direct attack...so I'll say it's because of your college knowledge. So in conclusion...Less Individual Thinking, more Society Thinking For You".

A word of advice to lv:

"If anyone among you thinks he is wise in this system of things, let him become a fool, that he may become wise."
