Should I write letters to a few brothers that i am friends with in my cong (I can't speak to now alot) and the other congs in Adelaide (I only see some of them every 6 months in my old congs) that i've been in, that tells them the REAL reason why I DA'd myself. (to cut any rumours off)

I really don't want to leave it all hanging up in the air for them......

Any thoughts?? Should I put any plugs in the letter for any "apostate" books or the church i'm now attending??

I just brought something similar up with a new poster...if what you need is closure and peace of mind, then you go for it. Be aware that, even after you send those letters, you will probably still be the subject of rumors and gossip (I know I am and I DA'd almost 4 years ago). Sorry but thats just how JWs are, some of them. They're bored out of their minds.

ANYTHING you put in writing could end up in the hands of an elder at your Judicial Committee DF for apostacy hearing. EVERYTHING is apostacy nowadays.

    I wouldn't if I were you.

Wait a minute - are you planning to actively DA yourself? If yes, then go ahead.

If you're hoping to fade from sight, don't.

    Soledad's new poster here!

One of the remarks at the end of the Jay Walter experience (i think it was over at http://www.exjws.net/pioneers/part1.htm) I really liked. After all he'd been through, he said one thing he would have done different would be to "never respond in anyway, written or oral to the elders or the society. Never give them anything written except through an attorney." But on the other hand, he would have been "more active in contacting other ex-JW's to expose the religious fraud of the organization."
I think you're time may be better spent helping others who have doubts (like myself) turn themselves around via websites like this one.

    AK,

People will talk and gossip about you no matter what you do or say. It's human nature.
