Once upon a time, a Bethelite friend of mine described the
organization as fascist. His friend corrected him:

"Nope, it's reactionary"

Indeed it is!

Does anyone here doubt that the Society could have greatly
reduced bad PR in the media if THEY HAD COMPLETELY IGNORED
the whole Dateline thing? If they just ignored the now DF'D
victims of repression? If they just called them DA'd and
left it at that?

Does anyone have any doubt that these elderly theocrats
are making stupid decisions - and that God's inspiration plays no
part in their judgement - as shown by the shameful results?

Do any of you loyal lurkers ask yourself why Jehovah is allowing
this scandal to be publically exposed, bringing disgrace on
'his' organization and name?

Do any of you lurkers read in the Bible about Solomon's
corrupt rule and how "Jehovah RAISED UP RESISTERS" to his nation
because he was disgusted with them?

Telling people that this is all because of Satan doesn't cut it.
If you think Satan did all this, you must ask WHY HE WAS ALLOWED
TO DO SO and why HE WAS ALLOWED TO RUIN THE REPUTATION OF THE
ORGANIZATION.

One of the most disturbing thoughts that comes to my mind, when the JWs play the Bringing-Reproach-On-Jehovah Card as an excuse to disfellowship anyone who exposes a problem within the organization is this:

Is it REALLY the people who expose the problem(s) who bring the reproach on the organization?

Isn't it ACTUALLY the people who COMMIT THESE CRIMES who are causing the reproach in the first place - making the organization itself "unclean" and WORTHY of reproach??

Exactly so - it's a 'shoot the messenger' attitude.

I don't think we should allow these lurkers to get away
with the usual lack of thinking so common to Witnesses.

They should confront the question of why the efforts of
the Governing Body to cover up scandal AREN'T being blessed
by God.

Some years ago I had occasion to "spank" a body of elders. The job was thoroughly accomplished by letter, with copies going to various entities including the Branch Overseer, police, and a woman's shelter. That means that it was certainly NOT contained in house. The effect was profound.

I thought you may be interested in my justification for doing that in a semi-public manner, as it touches on what you wrote here. These words were at the end of the letter:

"Let me leave you then with a word of caution. There will be those of you who will be outraged by my conducting of this matter in a semi-public manner.

"Don’t be.

"Think of it this way: One of the reasons Christendom has turned off so much of the world is the hoity-toity air of being holy and unblemished that they sometimes assume. People are not dumb. They know that everyone makes mistakes and has difficulties with others at times, no matter who they are. Look at the Apostle Paul and Barnabas. (Acts 15:37-40)

I truly appreciate the logical approach of your appeal to JW lurkers.

JWs cannot use this public exposure of their scandalous mishandling of God's sheep as "prophecied persecution".

Persecution for righteousness' sake would have to be because of their righteously doing god's work.

This "persecution" of being publically exposed is because of the WTS's own stupidity and hypocrisy.
