I remember some months ago reading on JW.org About the issue with child abuse. I tried to find it last night but couldn't. So if anybody has a link to it can you post it. May be I didn't look hard enough.

Ok my question is. This article on JW.org went something like this. In the 140 years of Wt history there have been 11 court cases filed against it and out of those 11 only 3 have been lost. 3 is still 3 to many. However out of the 100000 congregations around the world and 300000 elders, this has been quite small.

ok the figures are not correct but the point I am trying to make is how can they make a comment like that. When what I'm hearing is that there are many victims and people Who have tried to sue them. So is the problem just to a select few or is the court system in over load. Dose the article I just mentioned still exist on JW.org or has it been conveniently removed.

Did it say there have only been 11 FILED against them or 11 have gone to trial? I'm not sure the answer to your question but I do know they will avoid going to trial at all costs.

IN many of the cases the family brings the pedophile to court, not the WT.

I reckon they have had teams of lawers working behind the scenes "cleaning house" for them for years.

Paying victims off, slapping them with gag orders. That might have something to do with why official figures would seem unbelievably low.

Captain obvious = no it wasn't eleven. I just made that figure up. I do remember reading some months ago where they stated a figure on jw.org and thinking to myself "gee that figure seems awfully low," compared to all the crap I was finding out about them on the net. I tried to find that same article on jw.org the other night, but to no avail. I'm guessing in true dubbie fashion, unfavorable information has been removed.

When I was a elder in the 3 congregation I served in I knew a total of 12 witnesses all adults that was victim of child abuse as a child in the cult. None of them took anyone to court. My youngest sons wife was involved in a big child abuse case in FL back in the 90's. It was in all the newspapers and local TV news for many weeks. That was the first time our body of elders ever got a letter from the Wt. on how to handle news reporters if they come to our congregation and ask questions. This child abuse was taking place 4 congregation south of us. About 20 miles from our congregation. My youngest sons wife was 8 years old at the time. This guy was the devil himself. He went to jail. But serveral years later he was released. He did get back in that congregation again. After all you have to forgive him. sick, sick, sick. So he got the chance to rape some more children. He finally died just a few years ago. At any rate what I am saying their are many victims out there more than you think but many of these rapist are not brought out or the police take over and take care of them. Most of the victims would not even think of taking the Wt. to court. Still Totally ADD
