I heard something through the grapevine...was curious if it was an 'official view' Long story short, It was stated (?? somewhere ??) that a JW would have been killed had she stayed home and not gone to a CA. (In Washington State) Has anyone else heard about this? Trying to confirm if this is something that was said from stage or if a bunch of hyped-up JW zelots spoke this nonsense. Thanks!!

It's called sod's law, nothing to do with God.

I was saved as from the Wa landslide as well.

    By being in Australia.

    Miraculous, I know.

I am from Washington and the only thing I want to know is,did they find any more survivors! At 4:30 they announce the victims.

    Hope more went on holiday!

I remember there were two sisters killed in a car accident in my Hall. The story basically goes it was so freakin cold that month that there was no field service during the entire month. Finally there is a little break in the weather and the witnesses are out in full force so they don’t have to put down zero on their field service reports. Still there is no reason anyone should be travelling up and down icy highways with oil trucks going back and forth.

Finally a little Honda civic meets an 18 wheeler head on.

Go to funeral. Not a single tear shred. C.O gives the talk. Never did anyone ever say “It is stupid to drive up and down icy roads or life is more important than your field service report. Five minutes about the person, 20 minutes about the Borg.

The sick part was you could see the elders counting heads in the crowds during the speech. Then I heard people talking after. “Do you believe 600 people showed up, no I heard it was closer to 700, no I heard it was closer to 800.”

I wonder if that story will be in one of the magazines. Sad part I think it will expect they will be martyrs for Jehovah. Died doing what they loved and service to him.

    That is so sad clambake!

What happened to the 'duty of care' the cong should be showing?

They had a responsibility to encourage wise behaviour (just as a bartender shouldnt let someone who is drunk go out and drive...its his duty of care to try and encourage him to get a cab or taxi)

So this cong should have encouaged the memebers to avoid driving in such dangerous conditions!

The damn guilt that counting hours instills! It cost these witnesses lives (and traumatised the truck driver too!)
