Some of the quotes on that article are CRAPOLA.
I always thought that the best way a Christian to function in "this" systems was to be self-sufficient and not need anything.
How does that work then?? If you are on a low-income, have a disability, loads of kids - you will have help from the Government.
Therefore, the best thing a Christian can do in "this" system is to get a job, pay their taxes and not NEED anything from the Government.
Makes me bloody laugh that the JW's are quite happy to sponge off the "wordly powers" then turn around and bite the hands that feed them.
I personally knew a "disabled" pioneer and his "carer" who really took the state for a ride. Oh, not to mention all the free food they got. At get togethers, the host was always packaging up little goodies for them. I didn't qualify because my husband works his butt off and has a good job.
Parasites.

{eople have no control over disabilities. On the other hand, if you disabled, I would assume that you also can't pioneer. We had so many disabled pioneers while my parents worked hard at manual labor.

It's easy, really. Why does an abusive man not let his wife have a car, and why do they live far away from all the other neighbors? His position depends on her perpetual dependence upon him. If she is educated, his reign is over. He is a fearful individual who must control others to have a sense of control in the "evil" world.
The GB are no different. The WTBTS fears the modern world, they must control the sheeple for a sense of "self." You can be an ambitious JW, but your ambition must fall into the narrow confines of the WTBTS's parameters. The abused wife in the middle of nowhere is allowed to be ambitious in the kitchen or the bedroom.
