  This is true. Economists show that damage awards are passed on to consumers in increase prices. When someone wins damages, everyone in society pays. There has long been talk of curbing punitive damage awards and placing caps on actual damages. The jury never hears this economic analysis. Insurance companies are not punished. Trial lawyers are very effective lobbyists, though.

  I do not see, though, how the WT is swamped with pedophile cases compared to other religions. Every religion is affected. Individuals commit these acts, not the WT. The WT does not respond well. It has been antiwoman and antichild for generations. I am certain they see it as a cost of doing business.
