“The Watchtower’s Achilles’ Heel” is available in Spanish.

If reasoning with a JW on the Governing Body’s interpretations such as of the Kingdom of God, Parousia, the Cross, Blood, and so on is unlikely to break the Governing Body’s mental stranglehold, what then is its Achilles’ Heel?

My Study: “The Watchtower’s Achilles Heel” answers that question. It is available at

It is also available in Spanish:

Si el tratar de razonar con un Testigo de Jehová acerca de las interpretaciones del Cuerpo Gobernante referente al Reino de Dios, Parousia, La Cruz, Sangre, y muchas más, resulta en una estrategia fútil para liberarlos del control mental completo ejercido por sus líderes, ¿cuál es entonces el talón de Aquiles del Cuerpo Gobernante?

    Nice fractals Doug.

I didn't realize there are that many inconsistencies in the accounts between Paul and that in Acts.

Thanks Doug, I enjoyed your studies. Some actually make my brain work overtime, but it's well worth the effort

Thank you. Just copied the pdf to my hard drive (hope that's OK). Read it quickly, but will study it later. Saw some interesting stuff - stuff I''ve never thought of before. Made me think. I have been giving a lot of thought lately to the idea that it seems that Paul functioned independently of the Jerusalem group and didn't answer to them and, as you indicated, even spoke with disdain for them or even sarcasm about them.

This is something else you wrote that I've been thinking about a lot lately: "a JW obeys the GB because of who it claims to be , not because of what it says ." I was going to start a thread on this site about that.

Good work. It's obvious that the 'Governing Body' is not a biblical teaching, but your analysis gives a very good overview of why.

I'm not sure that Paul receiving 'visions' is particularly compelling stuff in general to motivate any rational person to believe that the Bible contains anything approaching an accurate history of Christianity. However, it is quite interesting from the perspective of JW (and Christian) belief that the accounts are contradictory.

Thank you for your article. Also thank you for other articles that you have written.

You state the control the GB have over their members very well. It is a fact that obedience to the GB is upheld regardless of the moral right or wrong of their position. For your article to mention 1914 and 1919 brings up a subject that all JW.s should research completely.

Then to concentrate on what the Bible actually says about the first century arrangements, is a very thought provoking.

    Good job.

Thank you all for your kind comments.

I see that an interesting DVD has just been released. I have seen trailers and discussions on it but I have not yet seen it. It is called "A Polite Bribe". apolitebribe.com

I am presently reading Bart Ehrman's latest book, "How Jesus Became God". It is well written, easy to read, and brings together many interesting issues.
