Funny lines and Wanderin' Star by Lee Marvin. Watch it now because it'll
probably be taken down soon.

I love musicals but that one was so painful...could never watch it.

Eastwood was appalled by the sheer wastefulness and extravagance of the production.
His own films have been $ successful because of efficiency in their making.
Paint your Wagon was an expensive flop. But those who produced it made out like bandits even before it was released.

Blondie... Honest?
I love that movie. It shows California in it's gold rush glory days, warts and all.
I went with a group of pioneers to Hollywood to see it when it was playing there.
I laughed so much.
When they sing "And They Call The Wind Moriah", you can feel the rain, and the cold, and the unease among the men, itching for it to stop, so they can get out and make their fortune, hopefully.
Spoiler Alert... In the first few minutes, there is a death, so the men dig a grave, put the guy in, respectfully bow their heads with hats off, start praying, somebody opens their eyes, looks down, spots gold, another guy spots gold, they throw the dead guy out (if I remember correctly but 1969 was a few years back) and they make a gold claim right then and there.
There is also a middle aged Mormon man with 2 wives, that comes to town... To a town full of men, and few women, so the miner's get the bright idea to auction her off to the highest bidder. That's fine with the Mormon man.
It is a hilarious movie.
I highly recommend it.

Yes, honest. Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood...he directed the movie version of Jersey Boys....I shudder
Music was good but it was like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Didn't the woman have two husbands
Yes. She went from FFM to MMF.
I loved the movie, although oddly, I don't like "They Call the Wind Mariah" sequence.

Opposite of Blondie here. I don't like musicals, PYW being the exception for me.

With the jw penchant to ban/deny/warn off everything not approved i was amazed at thenumber of jw who went to see that show. Its about fornication, prostitution, crazy religion (!) the devil gets a mention and disrespect for the dead. all abit like life in general.
Actually i remember enjoying the show.
