    Were the earliest believers of a resurrection the Egyptians, I have yet to find an earlier culture believing in this idea?

    There is no resurrection or immortality mentioned in the Hebrew Scriptures until Isaiah 25:8, and then in Daniel 12:2. Maybe it was Babylonian or Greek influence?
