So I'm riding in our neighborhood with mr. rebel8 and girls in casual maxi dresses (stripes, jersey fabric) and flip flops walk by. He says, "They must be going to prom." He thought this because of the hemline. (I've had several maxi dresses/skirts for a few yrs & wear them regularly, NOT to prom.)

I remember the first time attending assemblies/conventionns all the little girls and tweens dressed up in what I thought were bridesmaids dresses.
I thought "why do these kids all look like escapees from a wedding party? very strange."
I am comfort-driven in my choice of apparel, so let's say I'm fashion-eccentric. ;P
Note: do like the resurgence of the maxi, and will be checking the good-will for one ...

LOL I saw girls at the bar on Clearwater Beach sitting outside wearing maxi dresses. Now that I think about it at the bar in Michigan too. Very casual. I do have one but only wear it around the house. Guess I'm mostly a jeans girl. I think the maxi dresses look cool. I have friends that say I dress to young for my age but if I feel comfortable who cares.

My wife is fashionable for the both of us. I wear blue jeans and a Columbia PFG shirt almost everywhere. The only way one can distinguish my work and play wear is by the boots and flip flops.
