Well, the name kept ringing bells all the time that he was posting here. I should have twigged it when he wrote one in Spanish. http://www.worldcuparchive.com/LEGENDS/kempes.html

    Hello friends,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mario Kempes and that is my real name.

Now that's what I call brazen!

Be kind to him, Eman. He can't be so bad. At least he likes soccer!

D'ya think it's one and the same person?

    Cheers,
    Ozzie

If you didn't read this thread before, *shame* on ya, eman. Perhaps I reactivated it while you were vacationing.

    Hi Lisa,

It was good detective work that exposed MK and all his other aliases. If you notice, I never did make any contribution to that thread. However, SlayerLayer touched on the football connection.

I guess that I'm just a little annoyed with myself here. As a keen soccer fan I tend to keep my eye on the National teams, particularly Argentina! England and Argentina have been head to head so often, even more so as they face each other yet again in this next World Cup.

The Sunday newpapers were today recalling matches that took place in the 70's, and Mario Kempes was featured strongly as a one time superb Argentinian player. I saw the connection and realised that our imposter must have been playing games with us when he claimed to be the original Mario Kempes.

    What's soccer?

Football, dear boy, a game for gentlemen played by ruffians. Unlike rugby, which is a game for ruffians played by gentlemen.

Keeping track of nitwits is a full-time job, Eman. Easy slip-up.
