A nine-year-old boy remains in hospital while four others have survived with minor injuries Struck: The family were hit by the lightning bolt in their garden in Limbach, Germany.

Five members of a family of Jehovah's Witnesses were injured after being struck by lightning during a violent storm.

A grandmother, her two daughters and two grandchildren were all hit by the lightning bolt in the garden of their home in Limbach-Oberfrohna, near Dresden, Germany.

Bild newspaper reports nine-year-old grandson Elias was flown to hospital by air ambulance and remains in intensive care after being knocked unconscious by the lightning strike.

His cousin Cedrick, six, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries along with his mother Ricarda, 32, but the pair have since been discharged. Elias' mum Judith, 36, and grandmother Oma remain in hospital after falling and suffering head injuries but their conditions are not thought to be serious.

The family had been playing on the lawn when the storm quickly took hold on Thursday afternoon. It is thought the bolt hit a large tree in the garden and travelled along a large groove running through the grass. Ricarda told the newspaper she was preparing to chop wood on the lawn when heavy rain began falling.

She said: "It started to rain and we started to collect the toys. Suddenly it popped loudly and without warning. "Then I felt a tingling sensation from head to toe."

My prayers are with the children, for the adults, lets hope it has the effect of

Paul being knocked off his horse and leads to an epiphany.

You see? You see? If you weren't chopping wood on Saturday, instead of doings gods work and getting hits to our holy website this wouldn't happen to you. Jeho has mysterious ways to drive the D2D hours up.

Why does the article state " Five members of a family of Jehovah's Witnesses were injured after being struck by lightning during a violent storm."

What is the reason for this bit of info? Does the reporter think it will be humerous to its readers to possibly wonder if this was Gods doing?

I just find it amazing how this would be pertinent to the article.

What is the reason for this bit of info?

The minute the ambulances appeared they probably started yelping "No blood! No Blood! We're Jehovah's Witnesses!"
