Why does the WTBTS quote and lean upon "worldly" literature? Instead of their prayerful consideration to God, and 'divine' inspiration from their governing body?

I thought we were counseled to stay away from ALL that is of this world.

One example here, cross referencing; Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature, McClintock and Strong. That would be Rev. McClintock

While looking for information on blood I stumbled across this,

Cassi, don't over-analyze this one. They use whatever suits their purpose. Also,I imagine the occasional quote(no matter if it's in context)from outside literature would serve to make them look a little more open minded to outsiders or new recruits.

    Hiya CB!!!!

You say not to over analyze this. But isn't that what they do to scriptures? And use them to their own belief? What about an occasional misstep on my part lets say to gain "worldly" friends, that's okay so I will look more appealing to them and they will accept me, and maybe listen to my preaching to them?

Now I don't believe I was in the "truth" when the whole computer debate came about. But weren't JW's strongly cautioned to stay away from the Internet?

But its OK for the WTBTS to have a website? I'm sure its just one more tool they use to be able to say their prophecies have come true because the Internet allows for all to be reached across the world and told of God's word, then the end will come.

    Makes me sick.
