Has anybody ever inquired about the scripture that says that "EVERYBODY" must die once, THEN a judgement?

Hebrews 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,

That scripture clearly says man MUST die once. And if you combine that with

1 Cor 15:53 and 54 that pretty much say fleshly bodies are mortal and to live forever one must be reborn immortal in a non fleshly body, which goes along with Hebrews 9:27 saying that everybody must die once,

and finalized with Isaiah 28:18 that says those who proclaim they will never die, have invented their own convenant with death and it will NOT come to pass!

It seems to be universally clear that the scriptures teach mortal man WILL die, everybody will die one time.

I wonder what the JW response to those scriptures would be. Actually I know, "I'll get back to you."

If memory serves, JW leadership avoids that one. I am not even sure if they have a footnote or any references in the old NWT. They are good at avoiding that stuff. Have you looked in the CD library?

    JW answer:

Hebrews 9:27 context is not saying everyone has to die. The context is showing why the Christ only had to die once for ransom. Its use was illustrative.

1 Coe 15:53.54. Again context. This was written to anointed ones showing their new gift of immortal life. Not stating all must die.

Isa 28:18 This verse is reffering to what the bad rulers in Jerusalem were saying. See vs 15. This scripicture is not commenting on wether we all must diE or not, but is condemning the rulers arrogant claims.

Maybe another "death" comes into play.

(Romans 6:2) Certainly not! Seeing that we died with reference to sin....

(Romans 6:7) For the one who has died has been acquitted from his sin.

(Colossians 2:20) If YOU died together with Christ toward the elementary things of the world, . . .

(1 Peter 2:24) .....so that we might die to sins and live to righteousness.
