The jw's have always been bung up on preaching the good news of the kingdom to all the nation's then the end will come. But is there any where Jesus said that preaching the good news will bring you salvation? He does talk about being born again in order to see the kingdom and the bible at Matt 16 and Hebrews 9 talks about the blood means the covenant and this is bow ones sins are forgiven if your in this covenant. But just preaching and living a moral life while not being in the covenant, can one still survive?

It was Paul (to Timothy): ....save yourself and those who listen to you.

I believe they string together parts of several scriptures to make that case, the only one that comes to mind if the one about faith without works being dead. Of course they probably not talking about just preaching there, and they ignore the fact that the bible says belief in Jesus is what will save you.
And they take such pride in the preaching work, we are the only ones (not true), the good news must be preached and so forth. They completely ignore that the identifying mark of true Christians is that they have love among themselves, yet this is one aspect that they just give lip service to. While some individual JWs are very good people, helping others in the congregation is not something that is talked about much or emphasized. They track your field service, but nothing else, so the reality is most JWs are focused on "making their hours" not other works that are part of being a Christian. I attended a church for a few months, there were all kinds of assigned jobs, from official greeter, to music director, to providing food (every week after services) to feeding the hungry. They appeared closer to early Christianity in the bible that the JWs ever did, despite their bragging otherwise.
Another issue is that they are supposed to preach in the entire inhabited world, but do they? How many JWs are in China? They have a missionary school but give the missionaries so little support most end up coming home. They have millions in the bank, but aren't really using it much missionary work that I know of. So how much are they really committed to that? Supposedly Armageddon won't come until the good news is preached everywhere, at this rate it will be a thousand years before that happens, if ever.
And even in the US, where they get the territories worked frequently, if you ask the average American what JWs are preaching about, they probably couldn't tell you, as most JWs seldom get past the thirty second Watchtower presentation. They know JWs go door to door, and that's about it. Most people I have talked to know only that they don't do birthdays and Christmas and won't take blood. So even the thing they emphasize to the exclusion of everything else, they are not really that good at.

LisaRose-you are right. Most people have no idea what "the good news of the kingdom is."
I do think their preaching IS more extensive and far reaching than other religion's, but what is it really accomplishing?
But when I went out in fs all those years it was because:
I wanted to please Jehovah
I would be destroyed at armageddon if I didn't preach.

The preaching is purley there to keep the flock busy and in line...
They mask its importance by saying it 'saves lives'...

I think their preaching campaign is an epic fail, simply because with all their D2D work over the years,
most people still have no clear idea of what they are on about.
They would have had greater success with TV advertising campaign, but why pay for that when you have free labour.
