Can anyone point me in the direction of unbiased (or outside) sources for research. I'm particularly interested in anything showing the teachings or Russell and Rutherford and proof of what the WTS society was teaching in 1919?

Any site that states those things will be viewed as being apostate information by any practicing Witnesses. There's no way around it.
The best research is using the Society's own literature.
Any website out there that has the information you want (that is not JW.org) will be considered apostate by the Witnesses.
I always liked this one. It has been shut down by the organization and then put back up by somebody else multiple times.
get the WT pdfs. use control F and search for what you want. I am doing that now for the year 1914. I am still searching in the 1880s and have a ways to go to get to today.

The publications have to be searched for using key words, but there are plenty there.
Also, youblisher.com has lots of older Watchtowers on there. Not an "apostate" site. Just google "youblisher watchower 1913", for example, to get the WT for that year. A LOT of my research has come from there.
