The paedophile/rape case in Wales has attracted the interest of the the charity police. It seems the clouds are gathering and the charitable status of the WT in the UK is in question. Not great for the dubs but superb for champions of truth and righteousness.

Ironic isn't it. The issues that are bringing the pressure are a massive embarrassment. They lump the Borg Org with Garry Glitter, Jimmy Saville and Rolph Harris, uncomfortable.

A Church spokesman said: “As Jehovah’s Witnesses we have an absolute and unequivocal abhorrence of child abuse and [offer] our support for any victim or parent who reports this crime to the authorities. This is in line with what the Bible says at Romans 12:9.

True in theory, but talk is cheap.

Since when does the Org offer any practical help to congregation members. The only way one will be helped is if they are members in good standing, and if they are members in good standing, they most likely view the Organization as if it were a substitute for God and wouldn't expect any help until everything is all cleared up in the New System© ... the Org isn't going to help those who have fallen away, are inactive, or disfellowshipped unless the court makes them.

I still think that this may undermine the new Bethel plans in Essex. The massive plans of a few years ago were scrapped when the French tax issue emerged. The gb chickened out of that scale of investment in Europe when they thought the tax benefits may be rescinded all over the EC. It looks to me like the charity/tax free status enjoyed in the UK may be on thin ice.

If that is the case contracts will not be signed.

If Wt knows what's good for them they will be slowly filtering the money out of the UK. I reckon they are worse than the Catholic Church.
